Oxfam's Annual Musical Festival will take place on Thursday 16 October 2008, from 8.45pm.

The venue is the Lloyds Hotel, Wilbraham Road, Chorlton, Manchester.

Taste of Trafford - Fairtrade

Members of the Trafford Fairtrade Groups ran a stall promoting Fairtrade goods at the "Taste of Trafford" event in Altrincham on Sunday 21st. September 2008.

On offer were samples of various Fairtrade products, drinks from local supplier JP Juices and free cotton shopping bags provided by the Co-op Group. There was also a free prize draw for those who promised to buy at least one Fairtrade product.

Fairtrade needs your help!

We need your help! Trafford are working towards achieving Fairtrade Borough Status with the Fairtrade Foundation, this requires a portfolio of events, promotions, and media coverage to be compiled in order to evidence the support that is happening in the borough, therefore we need organisations, faith groups, community groups, businesses, and educational establishments to support us by contributing to the portfolio.

Taste of Fairtrade

Trafford’s Fairtrade steering group will be in attendance at the Taste of Trafford event at Altrincham Market on Sunday 21st September, between 11am - 4 pm, with lots of samples to try, and a free prize draw for a bag of Fairtrade goods when you pledge to change an item of shopping to one with the Fairtrade logo.

Stretford Fairtrade Group - Meeting 20 June 2008

The next meeting of the Stretford Fairtrade Group will be at 7-30pm on Friday 20th June 2008.

Fairtrade Groups Unite

At the AGM on 7th. April , the Altrincham Fairtrade Group and the Sale Group decided to unite. The new Altrincham & Sale Fairtrade Group will be even more effective in promoting Fairtrade in these two areas.

Showing of "Black Gold" Film

The acclaimed documentary film "Black Gold" about the coffee trade will be shown at two venues in Trafford.

On March 5th. Sale Fairtrade Group presents a showing of "Black Gold" at Trinity Methodist Church, Sale Moor. Start at 7pm. Admission Free. Refreshments available after the showing.

On March 7th. there will be a showing of "Black Gold" at the Bethel, corner of Henrietta St. and Cranbourne Rd., Old Trafford. Doors opne at 7-30pm for 8-00pm start.
Free entry and Fairtrade refreshments on sale.

Fairtrade Events on 1 March 2008

Sale Fairtrade Group Stall in indoor part of The Square Shoppin Centre at Sale. 10am to 3pm.
Free draw doe Freetrade hamper.
Freetrade goods on sale.

Stretford Fairtrade Group are having a stall in Stretford Mall from 11am to 2pm.
Samples of Fairtrade biscuits and other products.

Timperley Methodist Church are holding a homemade Fairtrade cake and biscuit sale. 10am to 12 noon.

Fairtrade Breakfast - 29 February - St. Hilda's Church

As part of Fairtrade Fortnight there will be a Fair Trade Breakfast on 29th. February at St. Hilda's Church (corner of Warwick Rd/Kings Rd, Stretford)

Fairtrade Drop In, Firswood Community Centre, 28 February

On Thursday 28 February 2008, the Old Trafford Steering Group are hosting a Fairtrade Drop In with stalls and a raffle prize of an eco-hamper (made up with Fairtrade goods, eco-freebies, and a book on Fairtrade).

Fairtrade Fashion & Food Show - 23 February 2008

There will be a Fairtrade Food and Fashion show at St. Mary's Church, Moss Lane, Sale on Saturday 23rd February 2008. Starting at 7-03pm for 7-45pm.

An evening giving an insight into ethical fashion and food and living a sustainable lifestyle.

Admission £5-00, including refreshments.
